Creating a sense of elegance on the web is similar to 'getting dressed for the occasion'.  You start by pooling your resources; dress, shoes, and accessories. With any luck, you're dressed to the nines when you step out the door.

On the web, it's the combination of colors, layout, messaging . . . but, most importantly, it's the quality of photos. I often say, "A website builds itself with great photos to work with."

A 3-Stage Plan
I recently worked with Dee Zehnder Ruggierllo, owner of Rapunzel's bu-tek in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Our goal was to  rebrand her web presence and bring a sense of 'style and elegance' to her audiences' experience. We met over the summer and designed a 3-stage plan to implement over the coming year.
  • Change her business name from Rapunzel's Unique Gifts and Yarn to Rapunzel's bu-tek, to better reflect her offerings.
  • Rebrand her website, setting the stage to expand in the future and offer selected products for each of her collections.
  • Incorporate her new brand messaging into her already existing retail store through custom product lines and print materials.

Resources
After our meeting, Dee returned home in search of the perfect photographer. She hired local photographer, Cassie Nicole Photography and Design, and pulled in her niece as a model. Skill, talent and beauty created the priceless photo resources that became the foundation of her new rebranding.

Holding the Vision
As we move into 2014, Dee is holding the vision when she shops the world market place. She's keeping her eye out for those unique one-of-a-kind products as featured treasures for her collections on her website.  She'll keep us posted through her newsletter and Facebook page. If you want to stay informed about those unique treasures, you might want to join her list! [wink]

With over 40 years of experience as a potter and 40+ wholesale distributors across the US, Loren is not only a well-seasoned potter, he's definitely has a flare for marketing as well.

Loren and I have worked together  for 7 years.  We work well together.  I certainly feel like I know him. And yet, this past weekend, I met Loren for the first time when I stopped by his Holiday Art Sale and Open House at his studio, Brace Point Pottery in West Seattle.  It was such a pleasure to finally meet him along with the 3 other participating artists; James Brooke and Reid Ozaki, pottery and Cheryl deGroot, jewelry. Seeing the work of these artists in person brought a new appreciation for their unique style, craftsmanship, and beauty they bring into the world.

Take a moment and visit Loren's new website.  It's a pile of beautiful images of his work.
